The Convention and Visitors Bureau provides Destination Marketing for 62 south and southwestern Chicago area suburbs including Olympia Fields. They offer many opportunities for business promotion, particularly for restaurant and retail businesses. Learn More

Governors State University
Founded in 1969, Governors State University (GSU) is a four-year public university that champions openness, innovation and flexibility. Serving more than 5,500 students, GSU offers 64 degree and 24 certificate programs. They also offer a wide variety of cultural resources, including the Center for the Performing Arts and the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park. Prairie State College provides a wide variety of Associate degree and certificate programs, continuing education opportunities, and corporate training activities from their location in nearby Chicago Heights. Learn More
Small Business Administration (SBA)
The SBA also provides many resources to small businesses, including loans, assistance with doing business with governments, and a blog with many helpful articles. The SBA also supports a non-profit called SCORE, which provides free mentoring, business tools, and workshops and webinars. Learn More
Small Business Development Center
The Small Business Development Center at Governors State University (GSU) offers direct consultation, assistance with creating a business plan, and many seminars and events focused on helping small businesses succeed. There is also an International Trade Center that offers assistance with doing business internationally. Learn More
Tax Increment Financing
Almost all of the development opportunities present in Olympia Fields are within a Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District. What this means? TIF is a mechanism to capture the net new or incremental taxes that are created when a vacant or underutilized property is redeveloped and use those revenues to help finance the project. Learn More
