Congratulations 2020 Graduates

2020 graduation

While 2020 graduates can’t walk across the stage to receive their diplomas surrounded by friends and family this year, many school districts honored the Class of 2020 with “Virtual Graduations and  Graduation Parades”. District 227 and the Olympia Fields Police Department coordinated a graduation parade through our community.

As it turns out, the big parade was actually the big cherry on top. Rich Central, Southland Charter, Marian Catholic and other area schools  produced their own unique live and individual graduation experiences for their students. In some cases, Graduates were given an appointed time where they were escorted into the school auditorium, accompanied by two guests to witness the actual event of their student walking across the stage and receiving their diploma. Each student walked and the diploma presentation included video recorded comments from the graduate.

We know that it has been a challenging end to the school year and the Village of Olympia Fields wanted to honor each and every one of them on this momentous occasion.  Enjoy the video created by the Olympia Fields Community Relations Commission and look for the banners placed in the Village down Kedzie Avenue from Vollmer Road to 203rd Street congratulating the 2020 Graduates!!!
