COVID-19 Business Resources

March 24, 2020

Dear Business Owner,

We live in unprecedented times. We want you to know that as we all continue to navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, the Village of Olympia Fields is committed to its residents, businesses and the power of helping one another through community.

While Village Hall is closed, our essential services—Police, Fire and Water continue to operate as normal. While our non-emergency personnel are working from home and responding via phone and email, we wanted to update you on resources that are available through state initiatives.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved Illinois’ eligibility for disaster assistance loans for small businesses facing financial hardship due to COVID -19.

Eligible businesses can apply for up to $2 million in low interest loans. These loans can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that cannot be paid due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. The maximum interest rate for businesses without credit available elsewhere is 3.75% and loans can be paid back at up to 30 years.

Additionally, State Treasurer Michael Frerichs announced a program to offer near 0% loans to small businesses through approved financial institutions.

As this crisis continues to unfold, we will be here for you, and we will be here for each other to help get through this.

Please refer to the Village’s website ( for additional resource information and updates pertaining to COVID-19. If you need any additional information, please contact Gladys Foster, Economic Development Coordinator at 708-503-8000 ext. 3404.
