• Provides a climate of open discussion and public input
• Presides over the Board of Trustee meetings
• Insures that proper procedures are taken to implement ordinances
• Monitors all Village functions
• Appoints all standing committees
• Monitors performance of all standing committees
• Recommends to the Board of Trustees removal of any appointments in the best interest of the Village
• Signs all documents requiring the chief executive signature
• Represents teh Board of Trustees and staff to the public
• Protects the public by establishing order and public safety
• Power and authority to inspect all books and records kept by any Village officer or official
• Serves or appoints representatives to all organizations where Village representation is required
• Approves of all hiring and staffing recommendations
• Delegates other functions as necessary
• Has all other functions and authorities designated by Village ordinance and state law
