job description: building commissioner

• Oversees the duties of the Code Enforcement Officer, building clerk, electrical inspectors and plumbing inspectors
• Reviews, inspects and approves commercial and residential building plans
• Prepares reports, legal notices, and plan reviews for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Village Board
• Reviews and approves Building Permits
• Acts as an intermediary with residents, builders, develoopers and village engineers.
• Investigates and responds to resident complaints with the aid of the Code Enforcement Officer regarding the compliance with Village Codes, representing the Village at applicable hearings
• Reviews sign applications with Sign Committee prior to approval
• Facility management of Village Hall and Police Department
• Assists in the Administrative Department's budgetary process
• Completes requests as assigned by the Village President.
