Police Department

Welcome From the Chief

Welcome to the Olympia Fields Police Department homepage. My name is John Krull and I have the honor of having been appointed Chief of Police for the Village of Olympia Fields in January 7, 2013. The Olympia Fields Police Department is comprised of twenty two full-time officers, four part-time officers and six non-sworn team members dedicated to providing the very best law enforcement services to our community.

The Village of Olympia Fields is a wonderful, diverse community located in the south suburbs of Cook County. We are home to the Olympia Fields Country Club, Rich Central High School, Franciscan Health - Olympia Fields, a variety of houses of worship as well as many retail establishments and restaurants. It is truly a tremendous community to work and raise a family.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Olympia Fields Police Department is staffed by highly trained professionals who are committed to a community oriented policing and community engagement philosophies. We pride ourselves on the high level of service we provide to all of our stakeholders. The role of police officer carries with it significant responsibilities of far greater complexity and importance than ever before. At the Olympia Fields Police Department, we are committed to a mission of consistent excellence. As Chief of Police, I firmly believe everyone is entitled to live in a peaceful and safe society and to receive effective, fair and efficient police services. Police officers have a moral, social and legal obligation to value and respect individual and community views and to take these diverse traditions, beliefs and perspectives into account at all times.

As a valued member of our community, you play a vital role in helping ensure Olympia Fields remains as safe tomorrow as it is today. Here are three ways you can help us to serve you better:

  1. Report anything you see or hear that is unlawful, suspicious or endangers public safety. For emergencies, call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies call 708-503-8100.
  2. Be proactive in ensuring you and your family are less likely to be victims of crime. Lock and secure your property, including your residence, vehicles, bicycles, etc.
  3. We always appreciate when people provide feedback on how we are doing; whether that is seeking to compliment an officer for a job well done or to let us know how we can better serve you.

Thank You

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I believe you will see that we continue to strive to live up to our organizational values of Service, Professionalism, Loyalty, Honor and Teamwork. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of this historic community and to be a member of a professional Police Department.

Together we will continue to make the Village of Olympia Fields the jewel of Cook County.
